Colossians 1:28 — The Mandate of Bridge The Gap Ministries

Bridge The Gap Ministries reaches at-risk Belizean youth with the gospel, equipping them through discipleship, life skills, and vocational trades. Since 2009, we have built a 10-acre campus in Belmopan, Cayo — a permanent base for residential programs, summer camps, and international mission teams.

What We Do

Five integrated programs that address the whole person — spiritual, social, and vocational.

Core Program

Youth Discipleship

One-on-one and small-group mentorship grounded in Scripture. Youth build identity, character, and faith through structured paths with consistent adult mentors.

Education

Life Skills Training

Financial literacy, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership — practical tools for navigating adult life with integrity and purpose.

Vocational

Life Trades

Hands-on training in construction, agriculture, and skilled trades. Graduates enter the workforce with certifiable skills and a foundation of dignity.

Seasonal

Summer Camps

Week-long residential camps drawing youth from across Belize. Bible teaching, team challenges, and community-building in a structured environment.

Partnerships

Mission Team Hosting

BTG hosts US church teams year-round. Teams work alongside Belizean staff — teaching, building, mentoring — while experiencing transformative cross-cultural immersion. Full housing, logistics, and program integration on campus.

Learn About Bringing a Team

The Campus

Ten acres in Belmopan, Cayo — built from the ground up by the ministry and the teams who have served here. What began as a clearing is now a permanent campus: dormitories, classrooms, dining hall, and outdoor spaces where transformation happens every day.

Toucan Girls Dormitory — residential housing for female students
Iguana Men's Dormitory — residential housing for male students
Classrooms & Training Spaces — dedicated rooms for life skills and vocational instruction
Outdoor Recreation Areas — sports courts and gathering spaces for camp activities
Mission Team Quarters — dedicated on-campus housing for visiting US church teams

Inquire About a Team Trip

Built in the Field.
Rooted for the Long Term.

Bridge The Gap Ministries was founded in 2009 with a simple conviction: the most vulnerable youth in Belize deserve more than a program — they deserve a community. What began as a small discipleship initiative has grown into a permanent, full-campus operation that runs year-round.

The ministry is led by a boots-on-the-ground team based in Belmopan, Cayo — Belizean leaders and long-term missionaries who live and work among the youth they serve. This is not a visiting ministry. This is a permanent presence.

US operations and donor support are coordinated from Greenville, SC, bridging the two communities that make this ministry possible.

Why Belize.
Why Belmopan.

Belize is a small nation — fewer than 400,000 people — but its youth crisis is large. High school dropout rates, youth unemployment, and limited vocational pathways create a generation at risk of poverty, violence, and aimlessness.

Belmopan, the capital, sits at the center of the Cayo district — close to the need and far enough from the coast to serve inland communities that mission tourism typically ignores. BTG planted its campus here deliberately.

The BTG model is long-term. We don't run a program and leave. We live here. We have built infrastructure. We are here for the generation coming up now — and the one after that.
